The Chair Blog II – TON’s Thonets in Spaces

The Thonet chairs were part of my childhood – they were in the school, in the local pub, my grandma had them at the kitchen table, in the music hall they were used for the audience. People repainted them in all kinds of colors, the wicker seat was mended with cable or sisal string, legs were glued back in place. I thought it was the most common thing – a normal chair – and learnt about the rich history behind it much later. Below are few interiors from the internet to illustrate how the Thonet chairs stack in the modern interior design world.Black-and-brown-Thonet-chairsbreakfast nook with thonetsBrown-bentwood-thonet-chairsdining roomTypical-French-bistro-interior-with-Thonet-chairs
